What? Another?
Inspite of all what's been happening, it was another tsunami that was mising in action. However, the wait is over. India put on a "cautious alert" a few hours ago which will continue till January 1. Though no official warning, they expect it would hit the country's eastern coastline "in either next few hours or very soon thereafter".
The warning issued by Home Ministry said that "a number of experts outside country are suggesting that another tsunami may hit Indian Ocean today afternoon in the event of an earthquake of high intensity which may happen near Australian region."
How are we to react? I have almost given myself entirely to this one, so NO ME for another. In any case be on alert.

OH GOD NO!! not another one. not at this time. I don't think anyone would want that. Have the Aussies mentioned anything about it?
Apparently, they were refering to the volcano eruption in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. (The Age, AU).
India's last active volcano, in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, has erupted in the aftermath of the huge earthquake that set off tsunamis killing thousands of people, official sources say.People have been evacuated from Barren Island since the eruption began Tuesday night and there were no reports of injury.Lava was flowing out of the rim of the crater which towers above the Indian Ocean some 500 metres away, the sources said. The volcano, known as Barren 1, is located some 135 kilometres north-east of the capital Port Blair, and last erupted in 1996. It runs about 150 fathoms deep under the sea and usually gives off smoke.
It also says that the the risk is minimised because it is surrounded by the sea so if at all there is a lava flow it will roll off into the sea.
Sri Lankans have already started the panic. There is nothing more to loose over here.
Thousands of Sri Lankans flee miles inland after hearing reports a new tsunami was on its way.At a lagoon near Arugam Bay on the island's eastern coast, locals jumped off a naval ship ferrying aid and waded to the beaches as rumours of new giant waves swept the devastated community.
Goodness Me! That means there could possibly be some kind of an effect in the ocean, which could end up causing problems for some of the affected countries. This is bad, very bad.
Out of curiosity, does the Navy solicit locals jumping into thier ships at willing? :)
The last thing we need is another national disaster. As I said there is nothing more to loose, except thier lives. So I don't see why they wouldn't want to hang even in a choper.
As the story of the volcano goes, I hope it happens the way they say it will. That could save a lot of touble in all parts not just The Andaman.
I hope this turns out to be a false alarm. Many lives are at stake.
All points to no imminent danger (Reuters). But it's the fear that lingers in them which makes things apparently worse. Like many screaming "Waves are coming! Waves are coming!" even for normal tides.
