Share Linkers Busted!

It's been a while since we last saw RIAA going head to toe with share giants. Now that MPAA has also joined the fairplay fight, things have gotten a bit different. Since last night there have been rumours that the team-up have got into underground work. A multitude of share sites and forums including BT's suddenly dissappeared from the global domain without a whisper. What can you make out of it?

Of course, this was bound to happen sooner or later. But in a formal way not the kind where u get dumped into a junkyard without having to know or tell why. I was kinda dissappointed to see SN and SC go off at a blink even after having a bag full of donations heading their way. SN of course made an excuse of financial & mantainence trouble. But I think we know what caused it. Busting BT sites would be a fine way to slow down the fastest sharing network out there. Without the meta files there would be no network. Since SN delayed their release of eXeem dragging an already fine beta version, I doubt there could be a future with BT if all goes down.

Even though well over-rated, KaZaA is still running the battle smoothly with the help of thier Australian origin. But the fact that most BT and ED2K sites are from Europe put this entire thing in an awkward position. I've heard pay-to-loose tales which makes sense considering there are no legal ties with the US, but there were some news about raids by R-M teams directly to server locations. I wonder how you define vandalism.

Many do think that these raids were not aimed at bringing down the share network, but rather to hamper groups from making large amounts of money. Of course, the former has been thier propeganda all along, but the facts are always hidden. For some reason they did make the wrong assumption of profitability and off beamed thier targets. Now, if that's what they were after, South Asia would have defenitely been a fine place for substance.

9 out of 10 netizens obviously agree to the fact that R-M's intentions in making p2p illegal strecthes from their main objective which they have sumed up in three words: MONEY, FAME, GLAMOUR. The more events that occur at the expense of R-M, the more users are bound to go against them. Fairplay is never to be defined precisly in the p2p game, so there is no point trying to take the upper hand. The fire has been lit, it's a matter of keeping it burning. Of course R-M has the power to write thier own rules. But the share community has a more powerful weapon: thier refusal.

If they ever get over it, it would be the underlying proof for thier hunt for Supremacy. But one alone carrying the title is probably the last thing that will happen in our world. I hope they end up getting what they want, else all of this will be a good for nothing sinner.
