A Moment of Despair
This is probably the best capture I came across in the tragedy that befell Sri Lanka along with many of her neighbours last Sunday. The capture below is a natural color satellite image showing the coastline on the southwestern city of Kalutara, Sri Lanka taken just before the wave hit the shores.

The ocean aligning for its deadliest attack since 40 years of peace. What hope can men find against the wrath of such a gigantic beast.

Amazing isn't it? How fast the divide was broken and that land was made indistinguishable. This is the best one I've seen too.
That's an amazing photo. I wish more satellite pics get published. Btw, vut about a site for survivor comments? ;) I haven't seen any around.
gosh.. that freaked me out. it would have flattened acres in seconds!
oh! and I think richie's idea is great.
Okay, I did give it a thought. Here's a prototype I just wrote now. Hope it atleast gives a decent impression. I'll work around it a bit later, and any suggestions on a seperate domain?
